Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.

Passage: 1 Peter 4:5-6 & 1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Series: 1 Peter (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 8 mins 35 secs

What does it mean when the Bible says that everyone must give an account of themselves to God? Listen to this lesson to see that every person born into this world will face an evaluation by God. For the believer this is called the Judgment Seat of Christ where we will be evaluated in order to determine our rewards and responsibilities. For the unbeliever, there is the Great White Throne of God. Hear what aspects of a person’s life will be judged there to see whether or not they are qualified to live with God forever. Hear about the Lamb’s Book of Life and the Book of Works. Understand that sinful man cannot perform righteous deeds. Realize that the Lake of Fire is a reality. When talking to unbelievers help them to see that sin is no longer an issue since Christ cancelled the sin debt on the Cross but the focus is on belief in Christ.

This lesson also includes Revelation 20:11–15.

Why does Peter tell Christians to conduct their life in fear when other Scriptures tell us not to fear? Listen to this lesson to understand why fear of the Lord is an important motivator to live our life in the light of the Judgment Seat of Christ. See that if you walk by means of the Spirit you produce rewardable works instead of sinful deeds. Understand that our evaluation is designed to show what has eternal value and that this involves our relationship with God and learning the Word of God.

Find out the different judgments awaiting the human race and how unbelievers are judged on the basis of their works at the Great White Throne judgment. Passage: Matthew 11:20-24
Series: Matthew (2013)
Duration: 49 mins 53 secs
Are there degrees of punishment for unbelievers in the Lake of Fire just as there are degrees of rewards for believers? Listen to this lesson to see that no one is sent to the Lake of Fire for their sins but rather on the basis of whether or not they accepted Christ’s death in their place on the Cross. Find out the meaning of Jesus’s words when He mentioned Tyre and Sidon in Matthew 11 and when He condemned the hypocritical Pharisees. Passage: Colossians 2:11-15
Series: Colossians (2011)
Duration: 47 mins 55 secs
Since Pastor Dean has been out of the country for a few weeks, this lesson takes the time to go back and review what we had learned so far on the profound significance Paul places on forgiveness in Colossians 2:11-15.

As we are reminded of when forgiveness takes place, we also learn of the four different types or areas of forgiveness. This lesson is important for a clear understanding of forgiveness all mankind has in Jesus' work on the cross, but also in how believers are to apply forgiveness in our personal walk.
