What is a Mini-Series?
A Mini-Series is a small subset of lessons from a major series which covers a particular subject or book. The class numbers will be in reference to the major series rather than the mini-series.

Tag Index

Each Bible class is assigned a few keywords or phrases called tags. This is simply an index or listing of all those tags. It is not an exhaustive index built from all the words in the titles, descriptions and transcripts. For that, you need to use the search function on the main menu.

Series: Matthew (2013)
Duration: 49 mins 44 secs

When is it justified to defend yourself against government authority? Find out how Jesus identifies Himself as God and how His voice affected the crowd. See how Peter reacted and hear what Jesus meant by His warning to Peter. Find out five prophecies that were fulfilled which gives us the confidence today that we can always depend on the Word of God.

This lesson also includes Luke 22:47–53 and John 18:2–11.

The notes link below includes “The Betrayal and Arrest” chronological reading of this event that Dr. Dean developed at the beginning of this class.

Passage: 1 Peter 2:13-17
Series: 1 Peter (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 12 mins 28 secs

Is it ever right to refuse to submit to a governing authority? Listen to this lesson to learn what the Bible has to say about authority orientation. Hear biblical and historical examples of those rightfully committing civil disobedience when either told to do something the Bible forbids or forbids what is mandated in the Bible. Find out whether the Founding Fathers were justified in not submitting to the King of England. Does God only expect us to respect the office but not the one holding the office? The answers to some of these difficult questions may surprise you.

Dr. Dean referenced an article by David Barton entitled “The American Revolution: Was it an Act of Biblical Rebellion?” during this class.
