2002 - 1st Corinthians
117 files
As Dr. Dean points out in the introduction to this 117 lesson study, 1st Corinthians is an epistle written to address problems in one of the worst congregations ever, the church at Corinth. Virtually every problem that a local church can have was present in Corinth.

This epistle is a fantastic illustration of how the culture around us can dominate our thinking if we don't renovate our thinking with the word of God. It also illustrates that Christians operating on human viewpoint can actually be worse than unbelievers. Dr. Dean taught this series while Pastor of the Preston City Bible Church in Preston, Connecticut starting in January of 2002 and concluding in September of 2004.
2002 - 2nd John
17 files
Much about 2nd John is shrouded in mystery. In most epistles we know to whom they were addressed, we know precisely who wrote them and we are reasonably certain when they were written. In 2nd John, the author identifies himself only as the elder. The recipients are not identified by location or name. For centuries they have debated whether this epistle addresses a literal individual lady or a metaphor for a local church. It is amazing that such a tiny epistle is so much debated. As you will see there is a tremendous amount of significant information in this epistle and it reiterates and reinforces many of the same ideas, themes and doctrines we see in the Gospel of John and the epistle of 1st John. Dr. Dean taught this 17 lesson series in starting in 2002 while pastor of the Preston City Bible Church in Preston, Connecticut.
2002 - Salvation
17 files
Classes in this series were taught at Preston City Bible Church.
2003 - 3rd John
24 files
The shortest book in the Bible (in the Greek), reiterating and reinforcing many of the same Doctrines we see in the Gospel of John, as well as in the epistles of 1st and 2nd John. An entirely new dimension to these Doctrines is presented. Dr. Dean taught this series in 2003 while Pastor of Preston City Bible Church in Preston, Connecticut.
2003 - Genesis
177 files

Genesis is the book of beginnings: the beginning of creation, man, sin, redemption, the divine institutions, covenants and much more. Almost every doctrine in the Scripture has its foundation in Genesis which makes it crucial for every believer to understand this book. The first 11 chapters are the most attacked portion of all the Bible. This is because they form the foundation for Christian thinking - Divine Viewpoint thinking. If you want to properly orient to God's essence, His grace and think as Christ thinks, then Genesis is indispensable.

2005 - Ascension and Session of Christ
9 files
This is a study of "The Ascension and Current Session of Christ."

Many of these lessons are also part of the Hebrews series, and will be so noted.
The doctrine of the current session of Christ and its importance to the spiritual life of the believer for the present in light of his future destiny with Christ is foundational to the book of Hebrews. As we study Hebrews our understanding of this crucial doctrine will be wonderfully enhanced.

These doctrines are not taught very often today. This whole subject weaves together certain Old Testament promises and passages, which interact with the Davidic Covenant. The Ascension sets up some unique factors for the church age that impact the individual believer’s spiritual life.

The first four lessons of this series were taught at the Country Bible Church, Brenham Texas.
2005 - Endurance of the Believer Conference in Preston City Connecticut
3 files
Endurance for Winning, how to survive in a world without truth.

Endurance is the difference between a sprinter and a marathon champion. Endurance is perseverance under pressure, the ability to keep going with a positive, winners mentality even when everything around you is in a state of collapse. Today, as never before, Christians are pressured to cave in to the moral relativism of a society which has rejected the notion of absolute truth. But Jesus Christ said He is the Truth. Caught in the vice of the conflict between society and God, too many Christians cave in under the pressures of life and become casualties in the ongoing spiritual struggle. Elijah, a man with the same nature as each of us, is a prime example of what can happen when we stand alone for the Truth. In this series we will look at the key principles which gave Elijah the power to persevere.

2005 - Foundation for Life
10 files
Our twenty-first century world is populated by a vast mix of religions and philosophies each claiming truth and that they can provide you with meaning and happiness. In contrast we have the claim of biblical Christianity that there is only one Truth, only one reality and only one God who exists and has spoken to us. By speaking to us God has informed us of the nature of reality and that happiness, purpose and meaning in life can only be realized when we orient our thinking and our lives to this Truth. Jesus said, “You shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall set you free.” (John 8:32). He did not leave us to guess the meaning of Truth. Jesus specified the meaning of his statement twice, He said “I am the Truth” (John 14:6) and further stated that this reality was communicated and articulated in the Bible, God’s Word, “Thy Word is Truth” (John 17:7).

The claim of Biblical Christianity is that only by making the Truth of the Bible the foundation for your life can you have happiness, meaning, purpose and fulfill God’s plan for your life—"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10).

Join with us in this series so you can discover for yourself the foundation for life as we explore the basic teaching of God’s Word, the Bible.
2005 - Foundation for Living
14 files
Jesus said, I came not like a thief to steal and destroy, but to give life and to give it abundantly (John 10:10). In the first series the focus is on life. Jesus is the Truth and the Life. We can have life only when its based on the Truth. How Jesus Christ can be the Only Truth and the Only way is clearly explained in this series as we explore the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to understand who God is, His character, His integrity, His personhood, and His love for mankind. We also learn why God wanted to save mankind and why there can only be one way of salvation, through Jesus Christ. Foundation for Life explains the only sure foundation for everyone's life, trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Foundation for Living begins where the first series, Foundation for Life, ends. Once a person trusts Christ as savior a new life instantly begins. This new spiritual life must be nourished to grow to maturity. God in His grace also designed a perfect plan for spiritual growth through His indwelling and filling Holy Spirit. In this series we will learn how to truly live, to enjoy in our day to day life the rich blessing God provides each Christian from the instant of salvation. This series will also include practical guidelines for Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and understanding your important role within the body of Christ and your local church.
2005 - Hebrews
209 files
From Dr. Dean’s introduction:

Hebrews is a book that will thrill us. It’s a book that will challenge us in many ways because of its intricate logic. To understand the thought flow of the author, we have to understand the context, not only of Hebrews, but we have to understand the context of the Old Testament citations. Hebrews is not really an epistle. We don’t know who wrote it. We don’t know to whom he wrote. We don’t know the reason or the occasion for this writing. We don’t know where he was when he wrote Hebrews. Nor do we know where the recipients were when he wrote to them. To answer these questions we are forced to dig into the text, to analyze the authors thought flow. To study and understand Old Testament ritual, the Levitical Offerings, the Levitical Priesthood, the operations of the Tabernacle and their doctrinal importance. The writer builds intricate arguments to support the doctrines of the Deity and Humanity of Christ. Which in turn lead to the doctrines of His High Priesthood, His unique Melchizedekian Priesthood. The final chapters focus so heavily on Jesus Christ, to keep the author of our faith before our eyes.

How does the Holy Spirit guide the believer? To what degree is the Holy Spirit involved in everyday decision making? In this series, Dr. Dean answers these questions and distinguishes between the view consistently presented throughout scripture concerning the Holy Spirit's leading and guiding ministry in the believer's life and today's scripturally unsupported but popular mystical view.

The 2006 Spring New England Bible Conference was held at the Preston City Bible Church, April 5-7 2006.

2008 - Decision Making in the Voting Booth
6 files
Decision Making in the Voting Booth? What does the Bible have to say about government, the selection of leaders, the issues of our day, and how a Bible believing Christian should use the Bible to evaluate candidates and their positions? Often the choices we have are not choices between right and wrong or good and evil. Sometimes these choices are between good and better and sometimes the choices are between bad and worse. How are we to decide? What are the fundamental, non-negotiables Christians must use in evaluating civil leaders?
2008 - Tabernacle Study
18 files
While studying the book of Hebrews, chapter 9 develops our understanding of our Lord’s present High Priestly ministry based on the typology (foreshadowing) of Israel’s Tabernacle. Therefore, a study of the the furniture and operations of the Tabernacle, and their Doctrinal importance, was prompted.

This series will focus on all of the details that we have in the Tabernacle. Looking at it's construction, and all of the different materials that were used. The dimensions, each piece of furniture and it's use. We are going to approach the study from the outside, as if we were entering it; which is the perspective of the Jewish worshiper coming to the Tabernacle. We are going to connect the Tabernacle and it contents to the New Testament and the personal work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This series is part of the "2005 - Hebrews" series. Since it is also an important study by itself, we are presenting this portion as a seperate series.

DVD's of these lessons (which are part of the 2005 - Hebrews series) can be ordered from Dean Bible Ministries by selecting the DVDs link on the left side of this page. In each lesson description, the Hebrews lesson number is provided. Also a link is provided, to view the lessons on the internet.
